Quiet Please – Can’t You See I’m Recharging?

My verbose neighbor seems to think that I need company during my gardening time.

But my gardening time is actually my ME time, my time away from the struggles and strifes that life can bring.

I’m thinking of borrowing my son’s iPod headphones – he can block ME out quite effectively!

  1. My perfect gardening companion for 14 years was my dog, who left me last summer. 😦 I understand exactly what you mean. Unfortunately, when you have earphones on, you can’t hear the buzz of bees and the birds singing. Fie on your obtuse neighbor!

Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.

    1. I’m sure you miss your buddy. Our dog is still a pup, and true to the breed, this lab loves to dig! And the neighbor has befriended Willis! Ugh, I just can’t win.

  2. Good grief….I feel the very same way. That time is my time and at the end I relax in my garden with my glass of lemonade and I still don’t want to be bothered. LOL.
